Why are vitamin D levels important?

Vitamin D is crucial for maintaining good health and wellbeing, and athough our skin produces Vitamin D when exposed to sunlight, more than 50% of the UK population is deficient.

During winter, when sunlight levels are too low to produce enough Vitamin D, the government recommends that we take supplements. But even in summer, Vitamin D deficiency is still common, partly because we use sunscreen and spend a lot of time indoors.

Signs you could be deficient in vitamin D

  • Tiredness and fatigue

  • Getting ill often

  • Poor immune system

  • Bone and back pain

  • Muscle pain

  • Hair loss

Just enter your postcode to book a NMC-registered Get A Drip nurse to your home, office or hotel. The callout fee's included in the price for a service that's as simple as it is convenient.

Don't book if:

You're under 18 years of age – Get A Drip nurses will not perform blood tests on children.

You have a bleeding disorder, known allergies to blood collection equipment or antiseptics, experience extreme fear or anxiety related to needles or blood tests, or have specific medical conditions or treatments that may require additional consideration.

Please consult with a healthcare provider to discuss any concerns before scheduling a blood test.

Blood Testing FAQs

Get A Drip will email you your results within four to seven days.

Blood samples are collected by venepuncture Get A Drip's mobile healthcare professionals. It's the same process as having a blood test at your local GP surgery.

Get A Drip recommends drinking water before your blood test as dehydration can cause results to be inaccurate. Drinking water also helps with vein quality when the blood sample is taken.

You'll need to fill out a Get A Drip medical questionnaire before getting a blood test. You'll be asked to disclose any medical conditions you may have and medications you are taking, and confirm that you feel well enough to have the blood test taken that day.

Get A Drip's laboratory partner is one of the largest in Europe and performs all of its work to the highest possible level of quality. They comply with current UKAS standards and applicable regulatory requirements, so diagnostics are delivered with utmost accuracy.

If your treatment can’t go ahead due to medical reasons discovered at your appointment, we’ll refund the treatment cost but not the callout fee

To avoid this happening, your nurse will call you ahead of your booking to run through your medical history and any medications you’re taking.

You can also message your nurse directly via the Urban app after you’ve booked to discuss.

As long as it’s more than 24hrs before your appointment, your nurse can refund the full cost of the treatment and booking fee so it’s definitely a good idea to consult with them ahead of your booking.

If your nurse can’t find the vein, we’ll refund you fully
In the unlikely scenario they can’t find a vein to administer your treatment, we’ll refund the full cost of treatment and callout fee.

If your nurse thinks a different treatment would be better suited to you at the time of your appointment, they can change your booking there and then. If the new cost is different to your original booking, they’ll let you know so you can confirm you’re happy to go ahead.

Please note that if you originally paid using Apple Pay, you’ll need to add another payment method to allow your nurse to amend your booking (not ideal, we know - we’re working on a fix!).

Yes! You can add on additional services to your booking or consultation if your nurse thinks they are suitable after reviewing your medical form.
